Homeless João Coelho Guimarães in Brazil was approached by businessman Alessandro Lobo, owner of Padoo, and it indeed marked the inception of his life change. 45-Year-Old Coelho has been homeless for three years, and his family had thought he was dead.

Walking into a men’s clothing store and barbershop, Alessandro and his employees offered to clean Coelho up and dressed him in new outfits. Photos of the mind-blowing makeover went viral, and his family was able to track him down after ten years. ‘He came, and we asked if he was hungry and wanted something to eat. But he refused and asked if we had a razor so he could trim his beard.’

‘That’s when we had an idea, and everyone in the store decided to help differently, providing a day of beauty for him.’ Alessandro, who’s also a country singer, told UOL. Coelho had appeared worse for wear with long messy hair and an overgrown beard and mustache. But fortunately, he got cleaned up as employees cut/styled his hair and trimmed his beard and mustache.

‘It took two hours to complete the transformation. The whole team volunteered, and everyone did a little. He’s a timid person and of few words. But we noticed his look of satisfaction and he thanked us very much. It’s Christmas time, and the intention was to show that with little, we can change someone’s life.’

‘His mother and his sisters are coming. They already considered him dead because they had not heard from him for over the years. They saw the photos and contacted me, and as he has neither a telephone nor a fixed address.’ Alessandra added.
