These are 11 little things that tells a lot about a person’s financial situation

Many people strive to appear richer than they really are. And it doesn’t reflect your actual financial situation – you can always try to look your best. But it is much more difficult to create this illusion than it seems. That’s because there are some little things that can destroy the illusion that we are working so hard on.

Bright red soled shoes are a trademark of Christian Louboutin; after all, the designer had to go to court to protect these gorgeous red soles. These shoes were a real hit about 5 years ago and almost every shoe company started making similar looking models with red soles. Since practically anyone can buy these shoes these days, red soles are no longer a sign of wealth. Also, cheaper models with red soles will look pretty bad in the near future.

2. Wearing matching sets of jewelry

In the 90s there were many women who wanted to show everyone how rich they were, so they wore all their most beautiful jewelry at the same time. It used to be cool to have a pair of earrings, a necklace, a ring, and a bracelet to go with it. And there are still many people who think that buying jewelry sets is a good idea. However, the fashion industry says otherwise: the more you mix the styles, the better. You can wear pearls with sneakers, gold with silver, and even earrings from different pairs. The most important thing is not to carry too many things at once.

3. Thin toilet paper

Unlike expensive toilet paper, the cheaper alternatives are too thin, so we end up using more paper because we want more layers. So in reality, you are not saving money because you have to buy toilet paper more often.
The same goes for paper towels – cheap towels literally disappear in your hands, ripping up another piece, and wasting more paper. Instead, you can buy a large quantity of toilet paper and paper towels to make each individual roll more economical.

4. You put your own photos in big flashy frames.

Massive frames with portraits of the people who live there in a small space usually look a bit ridiculous. The most important thing is the photo itself, not the frame. So if you want to hang your photos, choose a simple frame or no frame. Solid frames look great with mirrors so you can give it a try.

5. Fake luxury brand clothes and accessories

In most cases, fake luxury brands are of terrible quality and you can see it a mile away. It’s okay that not everyone can afford Prada or Gucci clothes. If you don’t have enough money for those brands, buy quality items from a less famous luxury brand.

6. Clothes from sales

Most people don’t want to spend a lot of money on clothes. But the problem with sale clothes is that they are often poorly designed, unpopular sizes, or other issues. And to find something really good in these selling areas, you have to dig deep. If you go to a sale at the end of the season, you will most likely be disappointed because if you can wear these clothes (which can take a year due to the weather) it will no longer be in fashion because fashion trends change quickly.

7. Soft toys

Stuffed animals are only good if you have children. Otherwise they are nothing more than dust collectors. It is better to get rid of stuffed toys once the children grow up. You can give them to your friends who have children or keep some for yourself as souvenirs.

8. Jeans with complicated designs

For many people, jeans are a staple in their everyday wardrobe, so don’t be cheap when it comes to shopping and don’t choose models that are no longer in style. Today it is better to buy very simple models without patterns, lace or other decorative elements. Plain jeans are ideal for people of all ages and professions. And you can always use accessories to make them more interesting.

9. Faded towels

Any fabric loses its color over time, but this is especially true for towels. They are used very frequently and are washed regularly with hot water. Light colored towels are particularly at risk, as the color appears washed in the washing machine after a few times. It is better to choose towels without bright colors and follow the washing instructions.

10. Cheap devices and appliances with many functions

You have to be very careful when buying equipment and appliances. Many brands offer a combination of functions, such as a washing machine that works as a dryer or a microwave that works as an oven. There are even 3-in-1 models like oven + coffee maker + cooker! But devices like this often sell for a lot of money, and if you see one listed as super cheap, chances are the manufacturer saved on the parts so the device doesn’t last too long.

11. Satin bed sheets

In the past, people believed that someone who had silk or satin sheets was very wealthy. But that is no longer true. People realized that natural silk sheets were very slippery and not comfortable to sleep on.
Of course there are cheaper materials that mimic satin but feel much worse, and since they are not breathable, they are bad for the hot summer months and cold winter nights. So next time you shop for bedding, choose one made from natural materials. Linen and cotton are the best materials you can choose from.
