High school was the time a lot of people peaked. Because you didn’t have to think about work or tax and studying was probably your biggest concern. But as time goes by, people could feel their best times slipping away with only pictures to remember.
The glow-down challenge on TikTok continued, and here are some hilarious glow-down pictures from women who decided to hop on the trend.
People love to say that high school is the best moment in our youth. That teenager should enjoy the best time of their life then as if life’s just going to get worse after that.
But senior professor William Klemm, Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Texas A&M University, explains, “Ours is a youth-obsessed culture, demanding living in the now with youthful gusto. Who has time for lessons learned and the wisdom that comes with age?”
Quoting Sue Chen, a CEO of medical products company, Klemm wrote, “Less is expected of seniors. Seniors, in turn, expect less of themselves.”
This stems from how younger people view aging as something scary, something they don’t wish to face. And this negative bias is exacerbated when they hear news of how people lose their spouses to old age or divorces.
People like Helen Hayes and Paul Meyer find their most fulfilling years in life to be after reaching their 70s because they have “accumulated a “rich reserve” of life experiences and lessons learned.” At that age, you stop giving care about pointless, negative emotions and people’s opinions while focusing more on your own happiness.
